Last week we had a visit from Robbyn, the Bug Lady, to talk to us about insects and spiders. It was a great session especially, holding the worms and watching the cricket jump around the class. She taught us a song to remember the parts of an insects body. Ask your child to sing it to you. Harvey and Cailin will be broadcasting on our radio station today telling us about our time with Robbyn.
Here is a task for Room 17 at home.

Find the spider blends
A blend is two consonants that are next to each other in a word and blend to form a new sound. Find the blends in the following paragraph.

Most spiders can spin webs. They do this by making a thick gel inside their bodies.
Then they squeeze it out through a tiny opening.
When the air hits it, the strand dries and becomes strong.

How did you go?

Let me know back at school.
