HI

Hi this is Emma Mailins, Harry and Cailin. This week we have finished our topic on Ancient greece so sad. We all loved it. We will be carrying on with legends in reading time. We made  chitons you can see the pics underneath.
Mr Stanton came and took us for football it was a really cool time - the girls are great at kicking.

We do not know our new topic because the teachers will not tell us- it is annoying.

What a day it was. We had three groups of children. One of boys one girls and one of slaves. We were acting out our roles as though we were in Ancient Greece.this is our new topic for the term. The boys got to go to school and they wrote Greek letters in clay and wrestle on the mat. The girls plaited their hair, learned to sew and made ambrosia. BUT.... the poor slaves had to clean the school grounds, clean windows, do the dishes and peel grapes for the boys to eat!! It was a tough afternoon for some.

Last week we had a visit from Robbyn, the Bug Lady, to talk to us about insects and spiders. It was a great session especially, holding the worms and watching the cricket jump around the class. She taught us a song to remember the parts of an insects body. Ask your child to sing it to you. Harvey and Cailin will be broadcasting on our radio station today telling us about our time with Robbyn.
Here is a task for Room 17 at home.

Find the spider blends
A blend is two consonants that are next to each other in a word and blend to form a new sound. Find the blends in the following paragraph.

Most spiders can spin webs. They do this by making a thick gel inside their bodies.
Then they squeeze it out through a tiny opening.
When the air hits it, the strand dries and becomes strong.

How did you go?

Let me know back at school.
